Careers that shape the World


On Wednesday 19th April, 19 Year 12 students attended a University of Queensland – St Lucia ‘Careers that shape the World’.  Students were able to access a variety of different faculties to help them make choices on future career paths.  Faculties included Arts, Communication, Education and Society, Business, Economics and Law, Engineering, Architecture and Information Technology, Health and Medicine and Science.  Students were able to pick from a variety of courses to help get an understanding of what will studied post compulsory education. 

Courses ranged from Politics, Philosophy and Economics, How far you can take your Law degree, designing your place, working with animals, dietitians and medicine.  The final session ended with the opportunity for students to hear from current students on a variety of topics such as preparing for UQ and life as a first year student.


Overall the experience gave the students a valuable insight to a range of courses and a world of possibilities.
