Regional Youth Mental Health Forum

Nine students along with Guidance Officer, Ms Austin and Student Council Executive, Ms Grosskopf attended the Regional Youth Mental Health Forum, Talkin' It Up.

The forum is designed to raise awareness of mental health and wellbeing, reduce the stigma of mental health, as well as give young people skills in recognising signs of depression and anxiety. LIVIN is a not for profit organisation who spoke to the 250 young people in attendance. LIVIN is all about "living your life at the top" and destroying the stigma that is attached to mental illness.

These students will now go on to be Mental Health Ambassadors at Laidley State High School, connecting, supporting and encouraging one another to talk about their feelings, issues and proving "It Ain't Weak to Speak!"
