SWIMMING CARNIVAL 2018

31/01/2018
Swimming Carnival
For the first time in many years the Laidley State High Swimming Carnival was held in the local community with the Laidley Pool hosting the day’s festivities. With temperatures hitting the mid 30’s mark it made for perfect swimming weather. Proceedings kicked off with the house war cries with Lalirra producing the greatest enthusiasm and noise taking the points. The house swims then followed with many students taking the opportunity to escape the heat and earn points for their houses. The day continued with novelty events, dance offs and fashion parades held throughout the day which were thoroughly enjoyed by all students. At the end of the day it was Wundurra house who was victorious amassing a whopping 1095 points ahead of Boomori (1037) in second and Lalirra (984) coming in 3rd place. Age champions for the day were:
