Block Exams
Block exams are organised at various times in the year for Year 11 & 12 students to ensure that students assessment load is well balanced.
The school operates an Exam Block Passport process that enables students to leave school and go home when they do not have an exam during block exams. To be eligible for a passport, students must have parents and all of their teachers sign the passport stating that they are up to date with all assessment. A study room operates throughout exam block for all students who remain at school to study or complete outstanding assessments.
Assessment Calendars
Students are issued with individual assessment calendars at the start of each semester that show the issue date, the draft date (if required) and the final due date. A copy is also posted home to parents with the first newsletter each semester. Assessment dates may change from time to time and will be listed on the assessment task sheet.
Assessment Monitoring
Teachers report to the office any assessment that has not been submitted by a student. A letter is automatically generated and sent home to parents so that they are aware that this has occurred. Teachers endeavour to advise parents when a draft has not been completed so that parents can intervene prior to the final due date for the assessment.
