Public Speaking & Debating
Our school actively participates and strongly contends a range of public speaking competitions including the Lockyer Valley Lord Mayoral Public Speaking Competition, Opti-MINDS and various interschool debating competitions. Public speaking can be a great self-esteem booster and a great place to meet new social and professional contacts.
Lockyer Valley Lord Mayoral Public Speaking Competition
The Lockyer Valley Mayoral Speech Contest is conducted between local secondary schools, students are trained by the Lockyer Valley Toastmasters for twelve weeks, to become better public speakers. Over the course of the training, students learn how to structure their speeches, use gestures and give feedback.
Opti-MINDS Creative Sustainability Challenge
