School catchment maps enable families to easily identify which school catchment area they reside within.  Contact our friendly office staff if you need assistance viewing, or using, this interactive map.

Simply choose 'Secondary Catchment (Year 8 to 10)' or 'Secondary Catchment (Year 11 to 12)' on the left-hand side of the page - then enter your child's principal place of residence.

For Laidley State High School, both maps are the same. The map will identify your closest school and display your home location, the school location and the catchment boundary.

School Enrolment Management Plan

Implementation of the School Enrolment Management Plan (School EMP) is required as our school is reaching enrolment capacity based on our current facilities.

Significant enrolment growth over recent years reflects the positive community confidence in our school – resulting from strong academic and vocational performance.

The School EMP was activated from 30 July 2013.

Students Eligible for Enrolment

As outlined in the School EMP, students meeting the following enrolment criteria are guaranteed enrolment at Laidley SHS:

  • Students whose principal place of residence is within our schools' catchment area (refer to our catchment area) information
  • Children and young people who are subject to child protection orders that grant guardianship or custody to the Chief Executive Officer of the Department of Communities, Child Safety and Disability Services (Child Safety Services)
  • Siblings of current students at the school
  • Students whose parent or legal guardian is employed by the school
  • Students who live outside the catchment area and are verified with a disability can enrol in the school to attend the specialised disability program if it is the closest program to their home and meets their individualised needs
  • Students who have been excluded from a school other than this school, dependent upon the conditions related to the exclusion, as determined by the Regional Director.

Out of Catchment Enrolments

Students who do not meet the above criteria are considered Out of Catchment enrolments.

These students are encouraged to submit an application and will be granted enrolment if the Principal determines that the school has capacity to accommodate the enrolment.

This decision is made by the Principal in accordance with the published School EMP located on the school website.  The school will notify parent/guardians if the out of catchment enrolment application has been accepted.

Decisions regarding out of catchment enrolments for students entering Year 7 in the following year will be finalised by the end of Term 3.
